All Scouts take an Oath when entering the charter, and part of it reads, ” to help other people at all times.” Scouts are taught to be many things, most notable of them for this area is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous and kind.
What better way to learn those attributes than to help those within our community every turn we can?!
Troop 101 is sponsored by First United Methodist Church so we often help with their outreach programs:
- Feed My Sheep (Feed My Sheep is a program in Temple that feeds area residents daily.) Find More Information HERE
- Some of our Scouts are members of the FUMC and help during Church Youth Missions to help clean and rebuild areas within the Temple Community
- Scouts and Scout Families participate in Angel Tree during the holiday seasons
Troop 101, helps maintain and expand the landscaping over at Amy’s House.
Amy’s House is helping transplant patients and their families here in Temple, TX and the Scouts are proud to brighten their garden and do their part to help the patients and families have a beautiful view.
Troop 101 volunteer’s their time to help come clean up after some of our fun area events hosted at the The Expo.
Scouting for Food
Yearly, Troop 101, hosts a Scouting for Food drive where we go out into the community and help pick up food donations for our local food banks. It’s important to ensure the people within our community do not have to worry about when or where they’re next meal is coming from.
Scouting Scholarships
Scouting dues can be expensive for families, along with the uniforms, so we try to host as many fundraisers as we can to ensure that we can provide Scouting Scholarships to families who would like to participate.
If we have a successful fundraising year, these scholarships could cover everything from signup dues, uniforms and even camping costs!
If you’re looking to donate, all donations are tax deductible!
